about

A new remastered self-titled album from the 2005–2009 era of Arcade Velocity. You could call it a reimagined chapter with tracks that got lost along the way.
No additional instruments/recordings added.
Carefully remastered with some light remixing of tracks 4, 5, 7, 9, 14, 17, 18, 19.

"How did this happen? Well... I took some time off in December 2022 to fire up my old computer in Nora. It has mainly collected dust during the last 10 years and is slowly deteriorating. I was looking through my music archive since a melody from the song "Water Star" came into my mind from nowhere. I don´t think I ever released it on myspace since a lot of tracks around 2008 ended up being scrapped in favor of the "Indigo Shades"-project (the three 2009-2012 albums are on bandcamp). And yep. You guessed it. I found Water Star. And all my other tracks.

I went straight down the rabbit hole. Going through and listening to my music from 2005-2009 I started feeling a bit weird. Nostalgia? Absolutely. But I also felt a strong sense that this is still a collection of inspiring tracks that everyone should be able to hear. So with respect to my younger self I started my rescue mission. Back to the future.
I found my "Water Star" and continued with picking out a collection of tracks that would make some sense together. It was tricky but I was determined. I didn´t want to alter the mixes too much and I couldn´t since most of the tracks were only available to me as sound files. Those reason projects are stuck in my even older computer and if I fire that one up I think it will actually catch fire.

Anyhow. What I wanted was to improve the sound as much as I could. I see it as lending my honed production skills to my past self. If I only knew how much correct mastering could do to a track back then... Those early mastering sessions actually ruined some of the tracks more than it helped. But hey, if I never went down that path I would probably play soccer or something.

Enough rambling. To sum things up, some of you have already heard the majority of the tracks through myspace, live concerts or on a few internet forums. But for most of you I know it´s completely new. And I will tell you, these tracks have never sounded as fresh. It´s the album release that should have preceded "Indigo Shades" in 2009. At least it is surfacing now, in 2022.

20 tracks.
The self-titled Arcade Velocity album.

Yeah. It feels good to release it as I believe it stands the test of time. I hope you give it a listen and if you want it in luxurious wav-quality, 20 tracks for 40 sek is an allright deal on bandcamp. And before you kill me, I set a few of the tracks as free but most of them cost 6 sek.

Rescue mission done.
Signing off.
